Bangor Symphony Orchestra

Sutherland Weston had been working with Bangor Symphony Orchestra to develop their brand and visual materials for more than a decade. I had the honor of designing materials for the 2018-2019 season. The goals, as usual, were to draw attention to the BSO in promotion of ticket and subscription sales to help ensure the future of this historic Bangor institution. Other goals included creating an all-new order form for season subscriptions.

Season Brochure

Hallo Spaceboy. The brochure set the tone for the entire season’s branding. Their Pops concert plans got me thinking about glam rock and the way that a makeup palette breaks when dropped. Of technical note: I worked with the client to develop a streamlined order form on a perforated fold-out page.

Show Posters

BSO shows are promoted around the Bangor region with printed posters. These posters are printed by the client in-house, so I sought to create the effect of a painters’ tape margin.

Print Ads

Each show has a corresponding print ads, for which the colorful poster designs had to be reconfigured for maximum impact in black-and-white. I used negative space on these ads to create visual interest in a black-and-white setting.

Web Ads

Social media and web ad graphics were also developed for each show to increase awareness about upcoming shows and bring traffic to the newly developed online order form.
